Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to anyone who visits seller.ae or uses our services, whether or not you register an account. It is issued by  (“Seller.ae”, “we”, “us”), of  Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which acts as the data controller for the personal data described here.

2. Information we collect

• Your name and contact details, including email address and phone number.
• Your account login and any profile information you choose to add.
• The content of listings you post, including photos and descriptions.
• Location data, if you allow the site to detect your location or you select a city or area when posting or searching.
• Messages and communications you send through the site, including enquiries to other users.
• Technical and usage data collected automatically when you visit the site — see Section 4, Analytics.
• Payment information for premium listings. Standard listings are free and never require payment information. When you purchase a premium listing, a third-party payment provider processes your payment; we do not store full card details. See Section 6.

We do not collect or process payment information for transactions between buyers and sellers. Seller.ae is not a party to those transactions — see our Terms and Conditions.

3. How we use your information

• To create and manage your account, and to let you post and manage listings.
• To connect you with other users — for example, showing your contact details on your public listings so buyers can reach you.
• To process premium listing purchases, once that feature is available.
• To respond to your enquiries and provide support.
• To detect and prevent fraud, spam, and misuse of the site.
• To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it — see Section 4.
• To send you service updates and, where you have not opted out, marketing communications about Seller.ae.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are viewed, how people navigate, and general usage patterns. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects technical data such as your IP address and browser type. This data is processed by Google, which may transfer it outside the UAE; see Google’s own privacy policy for details. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google’s browser opt-out tool.

We do not currently use Facebook or other advertising pixels. If that changes, we will update this policy before any new tool goes live.

You can set your browser to reject cookies, though this may affect how parts of the site work.

5. Sharing your information

• With other users: your name, phone number (if provided) and general location appear on your public listings and profile so buyers can contact you.
• With Google, for analytics, as described in Section 4.
• With a payment provider, once premium listings launch, solely to process that payment.
• Where required by law — for example, in response to a valid legal request, or to investigate suspected fraud or a breach of our Terms.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

6. Payment data

Once premium listings are available, payments will be processed by [[NAME OF PAYMENT PROVIDER, ONCE CHOSEN]], a third-party payment provider. They receive the payment details needed to process your transaction. Seller.ae does not store your full card number and does not have access to it after the transaction completes.

7. International transfers

Some of the tools we use, including Google Analytics, may process data on servers located outside the UAE. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards those providers put in place and take steps to ensure your data continues to receive an appropriate level of protection.

8. How long we keep your data

We keep your account and listing information for as long as your account is active, and for a limited period afterward as needed for legal, security, or record-keeping purposes. 

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data under our control from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential. Contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

10. Your rights

Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021), you have the right to:

• Know whether we hold personal data about you, and to access a copy of it.
• Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal or regulatory reasons we may need to retain some information.
• Ask us to restrict how we process your data, in certain circumstances.
• Object to certain processing, including for direct marketing.
• Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on your consent to process your data.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office.

11. Children

Seller.ae is not directed at children, and you must be at least 18 to register an account, consistent with our Terms and Conditions. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Marketing communications

If you no longer want to receive marketing emails from us, you can unsubscribe using the link in the email, or by contacting us at info@seller.ae with “Unsubscribe” in the subject line. You will still receive essential service messages, such as account or listing notifications.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version applies from the date it is published on this page, and we encourage you to check it periodically.
